FIGHTER INFO
Bobby Lashley was once of the most impressive college wrestlers in the country. More recently, he was one of the most popular professional wrestlers in the world. Now, the former WWE heavyweight champion is attempting to make it to the head of the class in Mixed Martial Arts.

Lashley, a physical specimen at 6-foot-3 and 250 pounds, was born in Junction City, KS, and lives in Denver, CO, was a wrestling star at Missouri Valley College where he won three national amateur championships between 1996 and 1998 and placed fourth in 1995. In 1997-98, he was the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) National Wrestling Champion. Lashley joined the United States Army, where he continued to wrestle. He was training for the 2004 Olympic Games but suffered a knee injury while doing business at a bank where a robbery broke out. The injury, in ‘03, ended his Olympic dream so Lashley turned to pro wrestling in ‘04.

After competing in events such as WWE Raw and SmackDown! shows in 2005 and, later, in ECW and, most recently in Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA), Lashley made his MMA debut on Dec. 13, 2008, registering a 41-second, first-round TKO (cuts) over Joshua Franklin.

Lashley will try to continue his transition into MMA when he puts his unbeaten record (5-0) on the line on the upcoming Strikeforce Live fight card at Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles on June 16 when he takes on undefeated Ron “The Monster” Sparks.
